On Saturday 14th March we held our annual Spring concert at Victoria Hall in Sheffield City Centre. Amid the Covid-19 pandemic it was fantastic to see our students, staff and parents rally together to make sure our concert ran smoothly and that our students were able to perform at the top of their game.
A fantastic number of people came to the concert and were absolutely blown away by the standard that our students were playing at. This concert featured our junior choir, junior string orchestra, junior brass, wind ensemble, wind sextet, senior strings and chamber orchestra.
The junior choir melted our hearts with a harmonised version of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Hushabye Mountain, whereas the senior string ensemble gave us two double concertos that featured a range of our talented string players.
Ending the evening with a bang, the Chamber Orchestra performed the first two movements of Beethoven's iconic Fifth Symphony.
