Academy Administrator

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, and experienced administrator to join our small and energetic team. Sheffield Music Academy is a vibrant and thriving music education charity, providing expert tuition to talented musicians aged 4-19 years. SMA are also the driving force behind the Harmony Works project, committed to creating a new home for music education for South Yorkshire and beyond, so to say this is an exciting time to join our growing charity is an understatement!
The postholder should be confident engaging with young people, parents, teachers, and the public. They should also have strong written skills, and an ability to use all MS Office applications.
This opening would suit someone with a strong interest in music and arts education, and a commitment to the progress of our inspiring young musicians of all ages and standards. You will have responsibility for the day-to-day office administration of the Academy, as well as running reception on SMA Saturdays and working on various projects throughout the year.
Closing Date: 9am, Friday 16th June
Interview: Tuesday 27th June at our offices in Sheffield
Start Date: as early as possible but no later than 1st August 2023
Contract Type: Permanent, part-time. We are looking for up to 27 hours per week to include Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays during term-time, with more flexibility during school holidays.
Work Location: Birkdale School on Saturdays during term-time. Office hours can be hybrid, split between home-working and our offices on Psalter Lane and can be discussed and agreed, depending on the candidate.
Salary: £22-£24,000 pro-rata depending on experience.

SMA Work Experience & Volunteering
For younger students interested in getting some work experience, SMA can take on a limited number of placements during the school work experience weeks to assist in the office.
SMA are always keen to speak to anyone interested in joining our Board, helping generally on a Saturday and/or at events and concerts. Please get in touch with the General Manager to discuss further.
