A Festive Extravaganza!

We held our annual Christmas Concert at St Andrew's, Psalter Lane on Saturday 8th December, after a productive day of learning and teaching at Birkdale School. We completely sold out the venue, with about 275 audience members coming through the doors!

This concert is always an exciting one as it involves nearly all of our students. From the dulcet tones of Junior Choir, Senior Choir and Chamber Choir, to the awe-inspiring interpretation of Brahms' First Symphony by the Chamber Orchestra, this concert was a real celebration of our young talent.

Before the concert begun, the audience were treated to some Christmas Carols played by the ever-growing Brass Group. The concert also gave some soloists the opportunity to perform in front of lots of people. It was fantastic to see our junior, intermediate and senior groups playing in the same concert together as it showed SMA's diversity and range of musical talent.

We are thankful to the Friends of SMA for providing a very festive array of refreshments for the interval, which included sherry for the adults and home baked mince pies.

Well done to all involved - what a fantastic concert!

Merry Christmas to all - see you next term!
