Matt grew up in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, before moving to the University of Nottingham to study music. Immersed in a musical world, Matt found his passion for a career in music. After completing an internship at the University of Birmingham, Matt moved to Suffolk to coordinate the Centre for Advanced Training Aldeburgh Young Musicians at Snape Maltings, ultimately progressing to Programme Manager. Matt then moved to the Glasshouse/Sage Gateshead as Head of Young People’s programme, leading Sage Gateshead’s plethora of education, community and engagement work, including the CAT. He then acted as Senior Producer, Make Music, at Sage Gateshead, until July 2023. 

Matt learned so much from his inspiring adventure around the UK but concluded that 2023 was the year to move closer to friends, family and his fiancée in Nottingham. Matt is delighted to continue his journey at Sheffield Music Academy - bringing experience, passion and vision.

You can find Matt in our Psalter Lane offices or working remotely Tuesdays-Fridays, and at reception at Birkdale on teaching Saturdays!
