As an alumni of SMA and, more recently, CSYO, Katie is thrilled to return to Sheffield’s vibrant music scene. Since leaving SMA in 2021, she has pursued an undergraduate degree in Music at King's College London, where also she studied violin with teachers from the Royal Academy of Music. During her studies, Katie acted as Producer for a production of Bach’s Coffee Cantata and held the role of Orchestra Manager for the King's College London Symphony Orchestra, the highlight of which was driving a percussion van to the South of France for their international tour!

 

Katie's interest in youth music making shines through in her dissertation, which explores Sheffield’s diverse musical organisations and the positive impact of music on young people.

 

Now stepping into her first permanent role since graduating in Summer 2024, Katie is excited to rejoin the SMA team in a different capacity! She looks forward to combining her enthusiasm and passion for music-making with her love for the city in this role.
